This page answers common questions about working with Freewill Web Design, including website projects and VIP Days. If you are considering a new website or focused website support, these answers will help you understand the process and decide whether we are a good fit.
General
What types of businesses do you work with?
I primarily work with small businesses, service providers, and local organizations that need a clear, functional website. Most clients are tradespeople, professional services, nonprofits, or locally focused businesses.
If you’re a large company or looking for full-scale marketing management, an agency may be a better fit.
Do you only work with businesses in Salem, Oregon?
No. I’m based in Salem and work with many businesses in the Willamette Valley, but I also work remotely with clients across the United States.
Local clients benefit from familiarity and regional context. Remote clients receive the same level of care and attention.
Are you an agency or a solo designer?
Freewill Web is a solo operation. I handle strategy, design, development, and setup personally.
This means:
Direct communication
No handoffs
No junior staff
No agency layers
If you need a large team handling multiple aspects of your online presence at once, an agency may be a better option.
Web Design Projects
What’s included in a web design project?
Every project is scoped individually, but most websites include:
Custom design tailored to your business
Mobile-responsive layouts
Clear calls to action
Basic on-page SEO setup
Performance and security best practices
Six months of post-launch support
The goal is a website that supports your business, not just one that looks good.
How long does a website take to build?
Most standard websites take three to six weeks, depending on scope, content readiness, and feedback timing.
Larger or more complex projects may take longer. Timelines are discussed clearly before work begins.
Do you provide website content or copywriting?
I can help refine, organize, and optimize content you provide.
If you need full copywriting, we’ll discuss scope and expectations upfront. Clear content helps projects move faster.
Will my website be mobile-friendly?
Yes. All websites are built to work well on phones, tablets, and desktops.
Mobile usability is standard, not optional.
Do you build eCommerce websites?
Yes, including WooCommerce setups.
Smaller stores and foundational eCommerce builds are a good fit. Larger or highly customized stores may require additional time or a phased approach.
VIP Days
What is a VIP Day?
A VIP Day is a dedicated, time-based workday focused entirely on your website or related setup tasks.
VIP Days are well suited for:
Multiple updates or fixes
SEO audits and tracking setup
WooCommerce or event calendar setup
CRM and form integrations
Cleanup and optimization
VIP Days start at $200 per day.
What’s the difference between a VIP Day and a VIP Week?
A VIP Day is best for a focused list of tasks.
A VIP Week reserves multiple consecutive days and is better for larger batches of work or multi-step setups.
If your task list is too large for one day, I’ll recommend a VIP Week or another appropriate option.
Are VIP Days outcome-based or time-based?
VIP Days are time-based.
You are reserving dedicated time, not guaranteeing completion of every task. Clear priorities and prepared access help maximize results.
Is a deposit required for VIP Days?
Yes. A $100 non-refundable deposit is required to reserve a VIP Day or VIP Week.
Deposits secure dedicated time and may be applied to a future booking with reasonable notice, subject to availability.
Support and Maintenance
Do you offer ongoing maintenance?
Yes. After your included support period, you can choose a monthly maintenance option that may include:
WordPress updates
Plugin and theme updates
Basic monitoring
Minor content changes
Maintenance is optional and discussed separately.
What happens if something breaks after launch?
During your included support period, I’ll help resolve issues related to the original site build.
Issues outside that window or unrelated to the original scope are handled through VIP Days or maintenance.
Communication and Process
How do we communicate during a project?
During your included support period, I’ll help resolve issues related to the original site build.
Issues outside that window or unrelated to the original scope are handled through VIP Days or maintenance.
Do you offer in-person meetings?
Occasionally, for local clients and when appropriate. Most projects are handled remotely to keep timelines efficient.
Getting Started
What if I’m not sure what I need yet?
That’s okay. The Start a Website Project form helps clarify your goals and determine the best next step.
